Maruti Suzuki installed a 300‑kilowatt electrolyzer at its manufacturing site, designed to capture excess solar electricity and split water into hydrogen and oxygen for on‑site use, operating alongside the plant’s solar panels when generation exceeds demand.

The system converts surplus solar power directly into hydrogen, providing a clean fuel that can replace natural‑gas boilers and fuel‑cell vehicles within the plant’s operations, and the gas can be stored in on‑site tanks for use during non‑sunlight hours.
