ALIMCO opened Gujarat’s first assistive‑technology mart in Nadiad, creating a dedicated retail space for its government‑produced mobility aids, hearing devices and daily‑living tools, and signaling the organization’s expansion into direct consumer sales within the state.

Nadiad location was selected for its central position in the Kheda district, allowing nearby towns and rural areas easier travel to obtain certified assistive products without relying on distant distributors, thereby improving supply chain reach for disabled residents.

Disability Advocates welcomed the mart, noting that a single‑window outlet can lower purchase costs and simplify access to essential equipment, supporting the goals of the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities to enhance independent living for Gujarat’s differently‑abled population.

Government expects the mart to serve as a model for similar outlets in other Indian states, aiming to boost domestic production of assistive technology and align with national schemes for skill development of persons with disabilities.
