Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission has issued 44.73 crore health insurance cards under AB-PMJAY, surpassing earlier milestones and expanding coverage for millions of Indians, including those in remote rural areas who previously faced access barriers.

Ministry of Health & Family Welfare released a press statement confirming the card count, highlighting the mission’s role in digitizing health records, speeding up claim settlements, and reducing fraud by linking beneficiaries to a secure electronic identity.

National Health Authority portal now hosts the digital IDs, enabling beneficiaries to access hospital services, track claims, receive health benefits, and download medical reports, all through a single electronic identity that replaces paper vouchers.
