Karnataka Launches Inclusive Incubator to Accelerate Assistive Technology Startups Across State

Karnataka announced the launch of an inclusive incubator dedicated to assistive technology, targeting startups that develop devices and services for persons with disabilities, with the hub to be located in Bengaluru’s technology park and supported by the state’s social welfare department and innovation agency.

State officials said the facility will offer seed funding, mentorship from industry experts, access to prototyping labs and market research support, and fully accessible workspaces, giving priority to entrepreneurs who are themselves disabled, thereby fostering innovation that directly addresses real‑world accessibility challenges.

Incubator aims to create at least fifty new jobs within its first year and to launch several market‑ready assistive products, leveraging partnerships with local universities and industry partners, positioning Karnataka as a regional hub for disability‑focused entrepreneurship and supporting national goals for inclusive economic growth.
