India Expands Diplomatic Outreach to Russia, China and Gulf Bloc Amid Trade Push

India is intensifying diplomatic outreach to Russia, China and the Gulf Cooperation Council, seeking to expand trade and strategic cooperation, and to strengthen economic ties, according to a recent India Today report.

Wang Yi met Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar in Beijing, where both sides pledged to deepen political dialogue and explore joint projects in energy, technology and infrastructure, as noted by the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Jaishankar highlighted parallel investment talks with Japan, aiming to attract Japanese capital into Indian infrastructure and manufacturing sectors, and to diversify supply chains, while emphasizing the importance of balanced relations with all major powers.

G20 discussions have reinforced India’s push, with officials citing the summit’s focus on a shifting world order and the need for inclusive economic growth, supporting the diplomatic momentum and positioning India as a bridge between East and West.
