Ayushman Bharat Links 100 Crore Health Records to ABHA Accounts, Boosting Digital Care
Ayushman Bharat has linked 100 crore health records to ABHA accounts, marking a major digital health milestone in India and allowing citizens to access their medical history through a unified portal.
ABHA IDs have risen to 93.95 crore, reflecting rapid enrollment in the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, where each ID serves as a unique health identifier for individuals across urban and rural areas.
National Health Authority oversees the integration, aiming to improve patient care, enable seamless data sharing, and support policy planning; however, it faces challenges in ensuring data privacy, upgrading rural internet infrastructure, and training health workers on the new system.
Stakeholders including state health departments, private hospitals, and technology partners are urged to verify data quality, expand connectivity, and promote citizen awareness, steps that could boost preventive care, streamline referrals, and reduce treatment costs across the nation.
