India Announces National Plan to Strengthen Health Systems and Boost Pandemic Preparedness

NITI Aayog released a white paper titled “Vision 2035 Public Health Surveillance in India,” outlining strategies for early detection and response, including digital reporting tools and community health worker networks. The strategy is designed to be scalable across all states.

Public Health Foundation of India emphasized the need for coordinated funding, capacity building, and public‑private partnerships to implement the proposed measures, stressing that resilient systems are essential for future pandemic threats.
