ISRO and AIIMS New Delhi Sign Memorandum to Advance Space Medicine Research

ISRO and AIIMS New Delhi signed a framework memorandum of understanding to cooperate in space medicine and research, to facilitate joint research projects, data sharing, and technology transfer between the two institutions and to advance collaborative initiatives.

Framework Memorandum outlines joint projects to apply space technology to medical studies, including microgravity effects on human physiology, to improve understanding of disease progression, develop new treatments, and support long‑duration space missions.

Collaboration will enable shared access to ISRO’s satellite data and AIIMS’s clinical research facilities for advanced diagnostics and treatment development, and facilitate interdisciplinary studies that integrate aerospace engineering, biomedical science, and data analytics.

Impact aims to advance India’s capabilities in space‑based healthcare, support astronaut health, and foster innovations that could benefit Earth‑bound patients by translating space research findings into clinical applications, improving medical imaging, and enhancing patient monitoring.
