Delhi Unveils 17‑Point Air Pollution Plan Aiming to Cut Severe Smog

Delhi Minister apologised, saying “It is impossible” to ignore the toxic air that now blankets the capital, and promised immediate steps while the city remains classified under a “severe plus” AQI level.

Air Pollution Mitigation Plan 2025 presents a 17‑point action package that includes cloud seeding, tighter emission curbs for vehicles and industry, expanded air‑quality monitoring, and coordinated public‑awareness drives aimed at reducing winter smog.

AQI Measurements have climbed to extreme values, recording 422, 428 and 452 in recent weeks, a level health experts compare to smoking fifty cigarettes a day and that triggers spikes in respiratory illnesses across Delhi.

Health Officials warn that prolonged exposure to the current smog could increase hospital admissions, urge rapid rollout of the mitigation plan, and advise citizens to limit outdoor activity until air quality improves.
