Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission Reaches 90 Crore ABHA Accounts, Expanding India's Health Network
Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission reports that the number of ABHA accounts has reached 90 crore, a landmark level that makes the platform the world’s largest digital health ID system, according to a recent government press release.
ABHA Accounts serve as a digital health ID for every citizen, linking personal details, medical records and insurance eligibility, and can be created through a simple online process that the mission says helps during emergencies.
OPD Registrations have crossed 25 crore under the mission, while 44.73 crore Ayushman cards have been issued, showing broad adoption that enables patients to access outpatient services and cashless treatment across public hospitals.
Hospital Compliance actions include the removal of more than 2,000 hospitals from the scheme for violations, a step the authorities say is needed to maintain data integrity and protect beneficiaries as the digital network expands.
