India Launches First AI‑Quantum University With ₹730 Crore Campus in Amravati

India has approved the creation of its first AI‑Quantum University, a flagship institute that will combine artificial intelligence and quantum computing research, and will be located in the city of Amravati in Maharashtra’s Vidarbha region.

Campus construction is budgeted at ₹730 crore, funding that will cover modern laboratories, dedicated AI and quantum computing labs, lecture theatres, student housing, and support services intended to attract scholars from across India and abroad.

Curriculum will offer advanced degree programs in AI algorithm design, quantum information science, and interdisciplinary research projects, mirroring the objectives of the national AI Mission that recently added eight firms to accelerate technology development.

Impact is projected to strengthen India’s talent pipeline, foster industry‑university collaborations, and position the country as a regional hub for AI‑quantum innovation, supporting broader digital and scientific goals set by the government.
