Divyang Sahara Yojana Launches Nationwide Assistive Tech Program to Boost Inclusion

Divyang Sahara Yojana—named to mean “support for persons with disabilities”—launches to increase access to assistive technology and promote inclusion for persons with disabilities across India. The program is presented as a dedicated effort to close long‑standing accessibility gaps.

Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment will oversee distribution of assistive devices such as screen readers, hearing aids, and mobility aids, coordinating with state disability welfare offices to ensure affordable pricing and timely delivery to eligible users across the country.

Beneficiaries are expected to gain improved educational, employment, and daily living opportunities as the scheme removes barriers, supports social integration, and aligns with government targets to increase disability inclusion metrics over the next few years.

Implementation will involve partnerships with technology providers and NGOs, with regular audits and feedback loops to track device delivery, user satisfaction, and impact, aiming for nationwide coverage and measurable inclusion improvements within the upcoming fiscal cycle.
