EOS-05 is the next Earth‑observation satellite in ISRO’s “Hawk’s Eye” series, built to deliver high‑resolution images for weather forecasting, crop monitoring and disaster response across the Indian subcontinent, and follows the recent PSLV‑C62 launch that demonstrated ISRO’s reliable launch capability.

GSLV‑F17 will carry the satellite from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, using a cryogenic upper stage that places EOS‑05 into a geosynchronous orbit, and the launch will be streamed live, allowing the public to watch the mission in real time.

ISRO has scheduled seven launches through 2026, with EOS‑05 marking the first of a busy phase that also includes the uncrewed Gaganyaan mission, the Samudrayaan lunar probe, and additional Earth‑observation satellites, underscoring its push to expand autonomous space capabilities.
