National Health Authority Charts Next Phase of Ayushman Bharat Emphasizing Digital Health and Financial Sustainability
National Health Authority released a roadmap marking the next phase of Ayushman Bharat reforms, highlighting a strategic shift toward digital health tools and explicitly stressing the need for financial sustainability to keep the program viable over the long term.
Ayushman Bharat will broaden its digital health adoption, with plans to move patient enrollment, claim verification and service delivery onto online platforms, a move the NHA says will simplify processes for beneficiaries and health providers alike.
Ministry of Health & Family Welfare communicated the reform details through a Press Information Bureau release, noting that the digital push and fiscal safeguards are designed to strengthen the scheme’s reach and ensure consistent funding for millions of Indian families.
Financial Sustainability measures outlined include tighter fund allocation, regular audits and mechanisms to curb wasteful spending, actions the NHA believes will protect the scheme’s budget and allow continued expansion without increasing the fiscal burden on the government.
