NIXI Expands Internet Governance Participation to Advance Inclusive Digital India
NIXI will enable broader participation in Internet governance, officials from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology said, supporting an inclusive Digital India agenda that seeks to involve more stakeholders in shaping online policy.
MeitY officials explained that the initiative allows multiple stakeholders, including regional internet service providers, civil society groups, and academic institutions, to engage directly in policy discussions, aiming to democratize decision‑making and reflect diverse regional interests.
The move is presented as a step toward building an inclusive Digital India, where governance structures consider accessibility, regional language needs, and equitable access, thereby strengthening the country's overall digital infrastructure and international standing.
Experts anticipate that increased participation will improve policy transparency, reduce the digital divide, and align India’s internet governance with global best practices, positioning the nation as a leader in collaborative digital regulation.
