Indian Super League postpones its 2026‑27 season by one month, with the league confirming a later kickoff date that pushes the opening fixtures into the autumn calendar and gives clubs extra preparation time.

Karan Yadav has been appointed chief executive officer of the ISL, bringing experience from previous sports management roles and tasked with steering the league through the schedule shift, commercial negotiations and fan engagement initiatives.

All India Football Federation approved the revised calendar, confirming that the league will resume with a traditional home‑and‑away format, restoring the double‑header match structure that clubs and broadcasters rely on for ticket sales and TV slots.

Season schedule now lists 12 teams playing 22 matches each, with the first fixture slated for late October, and the league promising tighter coordination with stadium authorities to avoid further disruptions.
