Sun Pharma, Zydus Life, Dr Reddy's Labs and Lupin saw their stock values tumble after news of the tariffs, with market analysts linking the decline to investor concerns over reduced access to the US market.

India’s pharmaceutical sector has transformed from heavy import reliance in 1947 to a global generics powerhouse, now supplying affordable medicines worldwide, supporting public health worldwide, and contributing significantly to the national economy.
