Democracy Forward Unveils New Platform to Boost Voter Participation Across India

Ballotpedia provides an up‑to‑date elections calendar covering upcoming national, state and local contests, listing dates for primaries, general elections and filing deadlines, and is publicly accessible for researchers, candidates and the general public.

Democracy Forward launches a groundbreaking new initiative described in a recent guide, aiming to improve civic engagement by offering resources and tools for voters to understand candidates and voting procedures. The platform also includes interactive tutorials and multilingual support to reach diverse communities.

Election Commission of India oversees the administration of these elections, managing voter registration, poll logistics and compliance with electoral laws across the country’s 28 states and 8 union territories. It coordinates with state election officers to ensure uniform standards and timely reporting of results.

Citizen Service Portal serves as a digital hub where Indian residents can access election‑related services, such as checking voter status, locating polling stations and submitting feedback on the voting process. The portal integrates with national ID databases to verify eligibility instantly.
