Delhi-NCR unveils a seven‑month pollution control plan designed to curb the anticipated winter smog, targeting a reduction in airborne particulates and improving air quality across the national capital region throughout the upcoming months.

Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav reviews the new strategy, stressing the need for coordinated action among municipal bodies, transport agencies and industry stakeholders to ensure effective implementation and to address the severe air quality challenges facing Delhi.

Air Quality Index data from AQICN and the aqi.in portal show Delhi’s current readings in the “very poor” category, reflecting dangerously high levels of pollutants such as PM2.5 and indicating that immediate mitigation measures are critical.

Residents are urged to limit outdoor exposure, follow health advisories and stay informed as authorities plan regular emissions monitoring, enforce temporary restrictions on high‑pollution activities and launch public awareness campaigns throughout the plan’s duration.
