Haryana Governor Announces State Technology Plan to Aid Speech and Hearing Impaired
Haryana Governor announced a state‑wide plan to use technology for speech and hearing impaired people, highlighting the need to improve communication access and integrate assistive solutions into public services.
State Health Department will work with NGOs and tech firms to select and distribute appropriate devices, including hearing aids, speech‑to‑text applications, and captioning tools, while also providing user training and ongoing technical support in schools and community centers.
Program Funding has been allocated in the upcoming budget, earmarking resources for equipment purchase, maintenance, and outreach, with the goal of reaching thousands of beneficiaries and strengthening inclusion for the Deaf community across Haryana.
Deaf Community Leaders praised the initiative, noting that technology aligns with Deaf culture’s emphasis on visual communication and can help bridge gaps in education and employment for people with hearing loss.
